Smarty pants Leonardo DaVinci said, “The color of the object illuminated partakes of the color of that which illuminates it.” This is definitely true about the perfectly named Colour Design Inc. Bold colours and graphics easily spring from its designers and creators Jeremy Pavka and Matt Callbeck—bold and bright individuals who have lit up many aspects of the Calgary arts scene with photography, events, and of course, their wicked cool designs.
.colourdesign has been an illuminative force in many ways, working not only to create playful pop-culture inspired graphics like their peace-sign logo or Boston Celtics inspired sweatshirt, but also to encourage the work of other young artists in Calgary. When asked what he likes the most about the Calgary art scene, he easily said, “The community and how close it is.” No doubt- they’re big participants in it.

We are happy and grateful to be in on this shine on since our first PARKSALE last year, where .colourdesign and Jeremy not only shared their awesome designs as vendors, but also worked with us on planning the event and, especially, printed our styling t-shirts. They also brought some of their unique collection of colour to the PARKSHOW fashion show this March, and it was awesome to work with them once more.

In the three years Colour Design Inc. has been creating product, they’ve maintained a vibrant mission statement: “we create fun.” Specifically originating in skate|snow culture, the playful and explorative aspects of life on a board infuse their designs, and you can tell in person and in the clothes that they have fun doing it.

Besides creating fun, these dudes make products that are designed and printed in Canada, they get the act local vibe that helps culture grow best. Along with their clothing, they have awesome accessories, art and a sweet blog.
