Creative potential is like having a little garden inside you that’s just itching to go travelling like that famous garden gnome that’s been all over the world. You’ve just gotta let it grow.
Too cheesy? Well, PARKSALE is all about letting people see what’s inside the verdant minds of independant artists in Calgary, and lemme tell you, its a nice view. We’re going to get outside the box- or glass vial, or whatever- and out into the open, where the sun is our spotlight, the grass and trees our gallery space, and instead of hushed voices and murmurred comments, we’re sure to have shouting, laughing, and sweet tunes spun by our live DJs. We’re young artists, and we’re not putting ourselves behind the glass, we’re parking ourselves on the grass for you to ask us about what we’re doing, check out our work, and share in the glorious feeling of getting outside in our beautiful city.
The greenery we’ve got inside will be grafted onto each other in one huge mega-garden of blooming talent, color, and light ideas. Believe me: as young and independant artists we may not have the perfectly structured and cultivated scheme of more established artists, but it’s all the better for us to grow like crazy with dedicated, passionate and ingenuously blossoming skillz.
We’re fitting a Central Park size plethora of creative growth into the U of C Field between Engineering + ICT, and I swear, there’s going to be gnome place better to be on that lovely Sunday afternoon.
